Editor’s Note: Viator recently held a contest to “Win Your Dream Travel Job” where we selected 4 finalists to travel the world shooting video. For 60 days, these teams traveled and filmed in some of the world’s top destinations, documenting their experiences along the way. Go here to watch their unforgettable journey!
For the next portion of their time in Italy, Ryan and Asha left Rome and Naples for Florence. There they enjoyed pasta, wine, and the beautiful landscapes of Tuscany.
As they were traveling, Ryan and Asha filmed hundreds of hours of footage, which includes dozens of Viator tours plus some fun behind-the-scenes moments. Stay tuned for more tour video updates in the coming months, and in the meantime check out a recap of some of the adventures they captured on their iPad!
Day 1
They must be getting good at Segway-ing by now! On the Florence Segway Tour, the team got a good introduction to the city as they zoomed past all the major attractions.
That afternoon they learned how to make gelato and pizza at a Florence Cooking Class. If you were thinking that all they’ve been doing on this trip is eating gelato, you’re right! Oh, and drinking beer…
Day 2
On their second day in Florence, they took two Skip-the-Line tours. These types of tours allow travelers to pass by everyone waiting in the long lines at museums and popular attractions, which saves lots of time!
First was the Skip The Line: Best of Florence Walking Tour including Accademia Gallery and Duomo, where they saw the famous statue of David, visited the spectacular Duomo, and, yes, tried some more gelato.
Next was the Skip the Line: Uffizi Gallery and Vasari Corridor Walking Tour. This includes a private viewing of the Vasari Corridor, which dates back to 1564 and stretches almost a mile between Palazzo Pitti and over the Arno to Palazzo della Signoria.
Day 3
On a day trip through Tuscany, Ryan and Asha toured the towers of San Gimignano and posed with another famous tower in Pisa. And, of course, ate more!
Day 4
No trip to Tuscany would be complete without a wine tour! On a Chianti Region Wine Tasting Trip, Team Europe enjoyed a tasting at a renowned wine-growing estate, plus a scenic drive through the picturesque Tuscan countryside.
Day 5
In addition to Segway tours, the team has also done a few bike tours. Both are excellent ways to see a city since you can cover a lot more ground than you can walking and they are much more intimate than bus tours.
With the Florence Bike Tour, they rode to more of Florence’s famous monuments as well as some of its lesser-known spots.
And here’s one last mention of all the gelato they’ve been consuming… yum!
Bonus video: Remember to pack bug spray when traveling–and don’t forget to put it on your face!
Next stop: Milan!
