Editor’s Note: Viator recently held a contest to “Win Your Dream Travel Job” where we selected 4 finalists to travel the world shooting video. For 60 days, these teams traveled and filmed in some of the world’s top destinations, documenting their experiences along the way. Go here to watch their unforgettable journey!
Ryan and Asha left Paris, and it was onto their LAST city… London. After following them on their 60-day journey, we, the Viator Travel Team, are sad to see their trip come to an end. They have been great to work with and have taken lots of amazing video footage–you can expect to see it in the near future!
As they were traveling, Ryan and Asha filmed hundreds of hours of footage, which includes dozens of Viator tours plus some fun behind-the-scenes moments. Stay tuned for more tour video updates in the coming months, and in the meantime check out a recap of some of the adventures they captured on their iPad!
Ryan and Asha stepped off the train from Paris and into the world of Harry Potter with a Harry Potter Walking Tour of London! The tour allowed them to see locations from the films, including the entrance to the Leaky Cauldron, Diagon Alley, and the mythical Platform 9¾, and was led by a knowledgeable Harry Potter guide.
The team’s next activity was a Stonehenge, Windsor Castle and Bath Day Trip from London. This day also happened to be the summer solstice, so they ended up running into a group of druids at Stonehenge–they celebrate this change in season every year at this ancient site.
Also on the agenda was Windsor Castle, which has been the home of the Royal Family for 900 years and the world’s largest and oldest occupied castle.
Then lastly, they went on to Bath, which is famous for its elegant Georgian architecture and, of course, the Roman Baths.
There’s nothing more English than “taking tea,” and Ryan and Asha got to experience this quintessential activity with a London Afternoon Tea at Grosvenor House. The Grosvenor House was one of the largest private houses situated on London’s exclusive Park Lane, and the afternoon tea is held in a room that offers great views over Hyde Park–the perfect way to relax after a morning of sightseeing!
Another classic English experience is riding in a black taxi, so the team hopped on a Black Taxi Tour of London to see some sights and get an insider look at the city.
Ryan and Asha got to follow in the footsteps of many rock ‘n’ rollers on the London Rock Music Tour. Abbey Road, the Pink Floyd studios, the place where Jimi Hendrix burned his first guitar, Amy Winehouse’s home, and many more sites were covered in the tour!
That evening they had another meet-and-greet with 14 Viator customers at the London Eye: Champagne Experience (in Paris, they also met up with Viator customers on a French Wine Tasting). From their London Eye capsule, they were able to see much of the city.
On their last day in London (and last day in Europe!) Ryan and Asha went on a tour down the Thames River, the longest river in England. Even if it was a gray day in London, it is still a magical city!
That evening, they stopped by the Viator London office to meet our staff there. From the video, it looks like Ryan really bonded with Nick, one of our Product Managers, and it sounds like they all had a great time.
Ryan and Asha, you are welcome to visit us in San Francisco anytime!
Next destination: Home!
P.S. (Aww, thanks Ryan!)
Thank you @ViatorTravel for the most incredible experience of my life! I’m back home dreaming about fairytale castles and Nutella crepes
