Have a Blues Christmas in Memphis
There is little protest to the claims that Memphis, Tennessee is the birthplace of rock ‘n roll. Sun Studio produced hit after hit in the early 50’s that transformed American music forever. This little “hole-in-the-wall” recording studio is where artists such as B.B. King, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Elvis Presley got their start.
And if you are a fan of the King, seeing Graceland decked out with Elvis’ personal decorations for Christmas only happens from now until his birthday in January.
But, there’s more to do in Memphis than just Graceland. Follow other visitor’s to the Peabody hotel to watch the ducks march, or ride ducks on a Memphis Tour. Walk down the alley to Rendezvous for some amazing BBQ (I’ve had them shipped to SF) or wander into the “clothier to the king” shop and pick up authentic Elvis attire.
Beale Street music, BBQ, and Mississippi riverboats, what are you waiting for?
