Fans of TV shows and movies, especially those with a Big Apple backdrop, will have a lot of fun on this 3-hour-plus New York TV and Movie Sites Tour. I know I did! Jam-packed with more than 60 instantly recognizable sites, the tour is not only highly entertaining but also gets you oriented to New York City in a truly unique way.

The tour begins at the Stardust Diner just above Times Square, where you’ll hop on a comfy tour bus and head out. You’ll roll up Eighth Avenue past The Soup Kitchen, the famous location that inspired the “Soup Nazi” episode on Seinfeld. You’ll pass the elegant The Plaza Hotel, where scenes from The Way We Were, Almost Famous, and North By Northwest were filmed. Does the fountain in front of The Plaza look familiar? That’s where the intro to the Friends TV series was filmed.

More and more sites unfold en route as you motor south along Fifth Avenue to the Lower East Side then downtown. You’ll glimpse the famous “I’ll have what she’s having” Katz Deli from When Harry Met Sally, see the Will & Grace apartment building, cruise past Tiffany & Co. from Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and gaze at the magnificent grand staircase outside the New York Supreme Court, site of numerous Law & Order episodes. While peering out the window looking at the sites, the entertaining narrator regales the group with amusing anecdotes while television monitors play clips of the various films and shows as you pass the locations. A nice touch, as it really brings it into perspective.

You’ll have plenty of time for photo opportunities, too. Take a picture in front of the Huxtables’ house from The Cosby Show, the apartment building that was home to Chandler, Joey, Rachel, and Monica from Friends, and FDNY Ladder 8 from Ghostbusters and Hitch.

This is a must-do tour! The bus is air conditioned in summer and heated in winter. Make sure you book your discounted tickets from Viator ahead of time!
