Catacombs in Rome? Boring (yawn), compared to the catacombs in Paris! Seems like nobody ever talks about or hears of the catacombs in Paris. Walk a maze of tunnels below the city and see stacks and stacks … literally stacks… of bones. Right there in front of you. Yep, you can touch ‘em. If you dare. Search wikipedia for catacombs in Paris for a picture. Now that’s something to do!!

Boring??? Tatiana, do you have any inkling of the history behind the Roman catacombs, the number of famous martyrs who are buried there, the sacred buildings overhead??? I’d give my eyeteeth to tour that area. Why some people even bother travelling is beyond me.

The catacombs in Paris as WAY better than those in Rome. I have been to both and Paris is much creepier. You have to walk through a mile or more of twisting catacombs lined about 5 feet tall with bones. I loved the Italy catacombs but the ones in Paris are much better.
