Over on the SMH Travel Blog, readers are calling out their favorite ‘best’ places in Australia.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports on Bogotá’s come-back, and blogs about working while traveling.

As the political situation in Nepal stabilizes, according to the New York Times, travel is picking up. For a bit of Big Apple frivolity, try their photo scavenger hunt (click here for more things to do in New York City).

The UK Guardian reveals the 10 best walking trails in Britain. Find out readers’ favorite spots in Glasgow, and how to go luxurious on the cheap in Edinburgh. Discover why the Andaman Islands are the hot new destination in the Indian Ocean, and why Tunisia is the new star of North Africa. For those traveling with kids, get tips on how to holiday in Paris with a 7-year-old while avoiding EuroDisney entirely, and how to survive a search for the center of Europe with toddlers in tow. The paper also examines the ethics of heli-skiing.

There are several articles about America’s Monument Valley on the LA Times site. Those of you shopping for a new passport case should check their survey of half a dozen models. And, finally, what is ‘bespoke travel’, and how do I get some?

This week’s special guest is China.org.cn, an official English-language news source covering politics, news, culture and - yes - travel in China. Have a look.
