The Apple Watch is here and with much buzz, the watch is expected to be the next game changer in mobile devices, especially for travelers. These days, travel and technology go hand in hand from online airfare and tour booking to a wealth of free travel guides and blogs.
The Apple Watch is set to be the next gadget for the savvy traveler, with features like up-to-date flight information and scannable boarding passes. Translation apps will provide quick, on-wrist translation, easing woes for those traveling where they don’t speak the language. Ever been lost while traveling in a new city? (who hasn’t?) The Apple Watch has tap a system that vibrates on your wrist to tell you when to turn as well as quick glance public transit information.
Initially Apple has partnered with brands like Starwood hotels (whose hotel chains include Aloft, Sheraton and W) to have the watch be programmed to open your hotel room door, along with check-in and check-out information. BMW will host a feature that leads you to your parked car. As time goes on, these features may be available for other brands as well.
We are pleased to announce the launch of a version of our Viator mobile app for the Apple Watch that will allow you to view your bookings and vouchers from your wrist, for quick and simple entry to get through the door at your activity. The Viator Apple Watch app will be synced with the Viator app on your phone, where you are able to research and book your tour.
