Update for Viator Customers Affected by Europe Airport Closures

Air travel in Europe has been thrown into chaos, following the eruption of a volcano in Iceland that is wreaking havoc on airports and airspace across Europe. You have our deepest sympathies if you’re one of the millions of travelers affected by the airport closures in Europe.

The good news is airports are mostly open across Europe now (see map below), based on the latest reports from the BBC and the NY Times. So we’re bullish that the worst of this crisis is behind us as stranded travelers are making their way to intended destinations safely, quickly, and with a minimum of further frustrations.

Viator Customer Care Update

Not surprisingly, we are still receiving a heavy volume of customer service queries and our response times are longer than usual. Thanks in advance for your patience!

We are processing cancellations and amendments for all passengers who are unable to attend their tour / activity due to the European airport closures. In most cases you will not be charged a cancel or amendment fee; on tours and activities that do incur fees, where possible we are waiving these fees with the cooperation of our local operators. Also note: if you have already rebooked your travel, please advise us so we can rebook your tours free of charge with no change or amendment fees, where possible.

Also note: if you need to change the date or time of a Viator tour that departs within the next 72 hours, we recommend you contact our local operator directly. The local telephone number and/or email address is listed on your Viator Voucher. This is the quickest way to reschedule an existing tour that has been affected by the airport closures.
