World Attraction Madness

Make sure to place your votes!

It’s March Madness time in the basketball world, so here at Viator we decided to have a little competition of our own. We looked at some of our top-rated attractions and put together a list of 32 of the best** attractions around the world. With your help, we’ whittled the field of  competitors down to 16, eight, four, and then two, giving you the chance to vote in every match-up. Finally, we’ tallied your votes and now it’s time to announce the winner – as chosen by you!

For participating, everyone who votes will receive a discount code for 5% off their next Viator tour!

Petra, Jordan

The Treasury. Ancient city of Petra carved out of the rock, Jordan

Petra  beat out the Grand Canyon, Vatican City, the Acropolis in Greece and the great Pyramids at Giza before finally taking on the Colosseum of Rome after it won over Stonehenge, the Great Barrier Reef, and the Eiffel Tower and Machu Picchu.

You can visit Petra as a day trip from Amman, or combine a trip to Petra with Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea, or spend three full days at Petra on a private tour.

The UNESCO World Heritage site of Petra was carved in stone more than 2000 years ago and today, its sights such as The Treasury (El-Khazneh – often recognized from the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade), the Byzantine Church, and the Royal Tombs, are popular tourist sites in Jordan

Thanks for voting, and don’t forget to claim your 5% discount!

**We picked our list of the world’s best attractions based on a number of factors, including popularity and positive reviews, while still aiming for geographical diversity and variety in the types of attraction. Sadly, because we’re starting with just 32 attractions, there were many famous and fantastic attractions we couldn’t include, such as the Berlin Wall, Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, Vietnam’s Ha Long Bay, the stone churches of Lalibela  in Ethiopia, San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, Ayers Rock in Australia, Mt. Fuji in Japan, the White House, Tiananmen Square in China and dozens, if not, hundreds more worthy and wonderful attractions in places near and far.

If your favorite was left off the list, be sure to tell us in the comments.
